MoMA X BODUM X WASSILY KANDINSKY
The goal of this project was to create an ad campaign for Bodum that seamlessly blends the brand’s minimalist, functional design with the abstract, vibrant aesthetics of Wassily Kandinsky. The aim was to reimagine Bodum's visual identity through the lens of Kandinsky's use of color, geometry, and abstraction, creating a unique, artistic representation of their coffee products.

PROCESS
To start, I immersed myself in Kandinsky’s work, focusing on his use of color and geometry, then began sketching concepts that would merge his abstract principles with Bodum's clean, functional design. I explored how shapes and colors from Kandinsky’s art could translate into a coffee-centric context, experimenting with both soft and bold color schemes to match Bodum’s brand.

After refining the visual elements, I applied them to various campaign materials, including print ads, posters, and digital assets. I ensured that each design maintained Bodum’s minimalist style while embracing the fluidity and abstraction of Kandinsky’s approach. The final result was an ad campaign that was both fresh and artistic, elevating the Bodum brand to a new, more creatively expressive level. The campaign successfully merged functional product design with the evocative power of abstract art, bringing a unique and artistic energy to the brand’s visual identity.

"Live Life Abstractly" encourages embracing creativity and breaking free from convention with a bold, artistic perspective, aligning with Kandinsky’s focus on color and abstraction while reflecting Bodum's modern, minimalist collection that values both form and function.

AD IN MAGAZINE SPREAD

This expansion of the Bodum ad campaign features a teapot subtly integrated into Kandinsky's iconic painting Yellow-Red-Blue. In this piece, the teapot is designed to blend seamlessly into the painting, almost becoming one with the abstract forms and vibrant colors.

At first glance, the teapot appears to dissolve into the composition, but for the target demographic—those who appreciate both fine art and functional design—this integration speaks to the idea of everyday objects as art.

The design captures Bodum's minimalist yet artistic ethos, where the boundaries between utility and visual expression blur. This expansion highlights the harmony between Bodum products and abstract art, offering a refined yet approachable design that resonates with consumers who value both aesthetics and function.
